Welcome!

Welcome to That Natural Beauty. While beginning this blog the song, "Ain't No Sunshine" By Bill Withers played in the background. Quite ironic considering what I've been thinking about lately.

Why do we depend so much on other people? Don't get me wrong, depending on other people is a fortunate trait we human beings have seemed to develop over the many centuries past. However, aren't we a self-assertive species? Take a look in any book that holds information, ideas, and theories from and about significant individuals. I.E. Socrates. His methods are taught throughout countless universities and high schools. Socrates' constant pushing of his ideas and new methods brought about significant global change, more pointedly within the instruction and education of up-and-coming generations.

In this world, we need to be self-assertive individuals to make ourselves successful and enthusiastically engaged in life. We can't always rely on others to make our lives successful and happy, that is a lesson I was forced to learn. It was a harsh lesson but a priceless one. For many years, too many really, I've felt that I couldn't stand by myself and not be walked all over. I've proven myself wrong. I stand more independent  but I am supported by my friends and family. The difference between me, say three years ago and me now, is simply, I have been forced to become a much more independent individual and therefore I am starting to become a self-assertive person.

It is liberating to know that you can survive without dependence on others all the time. It is liberating to be your own person. Stop allowing people to dictate your life. We are an intelligent species; we read, write, problem-solve, and analyze everything. Our brain registers so much information on a daily basis. Literally, we have about one billion neurons in our brain.  Each one of those one billion neurons forms about 1000 connections to other neurons. That is literally, mind blowing. How can any of us sit back on the sidelines of our own lives when we are truly fully capable of achieving anything?

We are a special species, unique and brilliant. The human race is literally that natural beauty. That natural beauty that can send a man to the moon, that can paint a picture that has depth, that can study stars hundreds of billions of miles away, that can discover a new life form miles under the ocean,  or that can chop down a tree and plant a new one. How can you believe that you can't be a self-assertive individual? Be self-assertive for the right causes, fight for what you believe in, and stop allowing others to label you. You are That Natural Beauty.
