The Bus

Hey everyone!

     Public transportation is one way to meet new people. The bus drivers are typically nice and sociable. The passengers are interesting folk too. If you ask them how their day has been you are certainly in for one hell of a story. It's quite fun actually, seeing new places, new people, and new potential destinations. However, there are those certain aspects of public transportation that you can certainly live without.

      For instance, those creepy men who believe that it is alright to whistle at a young beautiful woman as if she is some type of an animal. Yes, unfortunately that does happen. In fact, that happened to me countless times. I am sure that has happened to you readers too. It is quite disgusting and perverse.

      Ladies, you do not have to live with that type of despicable behavior. Whistling at a women is a form a sexual harassment. No one is obligated to tolerate it. Now, I know some men who will read this, will assume that I am a feminist, I am not. I am simply a young woman who is tired of being whistled at. Does that make sense? Now, not all men are pigs. In contrast, I know very many gentlemen who would never whistle, hoot, or holler at a woman. It is perverse and can make a woman feel victimized. True, whistling at a woman or anyone else is not a crime, but sexual harassment is. I highly doubt any woman would report whistling to the police but if your not careful any form of sexual harassment could become serious.

     Moreover, ladies we are obligated to remember that men mature at a much slower rate than women. Also, we all are easily tempted into lustful behavior. It is part of the human character. It is not wrong in any way to be attracted to someone, but it is wrong to victimize that person because of your slight infatuation. And romance is not a bad thing, but we all as people must learn to respect each other. Whistling at a woman is certainly not respectful behavior but bashing men is not respectful either. Please do not read this blog and think that I am bashing all men because I am not. As I stated above, I know many gentlemen who would never act so piggishly.

     Also, ladies there are ways to stop this type of brash behavior. Simply tell the man whistling at you that you are not an animal, therefore you do not respond positively to any form of an animal call. Or, dress in a way that shows that you have some feeling of personal respect. Everyone must respect themselves first to gain respect from others. Have dignity and hold your head up high. Know that you are a natural beauty and men will begin to see you as you require them to see you as That Natural Beauty.
