Today was a productive day. Got registered for the classes I needed to take. However, as I was registering myself I remembered doing this just a few months ago. Then I remembered what it took to get to where I am now. It made me think about how blessed I am to have such a supportive group of people backing me.
Unfortunately, as I started to think back a few months I began to realize all that has happened within the past few years. Graduating, heartbreak, success, friends, family, and various other people, places, and things. It's amazing seeing how far you've walked in such a short time. I think right now is a perfect time to recall one of my all time preferred pieces of poetry.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
and looked down one as far as I could
to where it bent in the undergrowth;
and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
and looked down one as far as I could
to where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
and having perhaps the better claim
because it was grassy and wanted wear;
though as for that, the passing there
had worn them really about the same,
and having perhaps the better claim
because it was grassy and wanted wear;
though as for that, the passing there
had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
in leaves no feet had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
in leaves no feet had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --
I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference
By Robert Frost.
Every time I read this poem it warns me. It whispers those wise words, "Days will pass quickly and without caution," Sadly, it is too easy to miss some of the best opportunities, or roads, of your life. My message today is short and sweet, don't ever take your life for granted, because before you know it, your time will sadly be up.
This world has a tendency to make us forget about what is truly important. People will try and try again to fill your minds up with what THEY feel is important. Don't ever buy into that lie, you know what 's best for you. You know what you need and what you want, others will offer guidance and that's good, listen to their advice, but make your own choices. It's your life, live and let live, but never forget to laugh and love. The most vital act that any human being can perform is love. Do not ever give up on love, it's one of those natural beauties. Laughter brings joy not only to you but to everyone around you, so never forget to laugh at anything and at every thing.
